On Saturday, January 11, 2025, we start the hiking year with the traditional mulled wine hike.
The circular route begins at the community center in Weinsfeld. On paved farm roads, we walk over the Weinsfelder Berg and on to Steinmehlen. The way back leads past the Donnerskopf, under the motorway underpass and steeply down to Weinsfeld. At the first house on the right, we make a short stop at the forester and wood carver Yakup Wentz. Here we have the opportunity to look at some of his works. After that, it is a good 600 m to the community center, where our service team has prepared mulled wine and pastries.
Those who can no longer hike are also cordially invited to this sociable end. The hiking route is almost 6 km long and has an elevation gain of 141 meters. The hike takes about 2 hours.
Departure is on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at 1 p.m. at the Prüm town hall square. Carpooling is available for €1.00. Otherwise the hike is free. The hiking guides are Jürgen (with Chico) and Elke. We look forward to welcoming many hiking friends of the Eifelverein and especially guests to the first hike of the new year.
