Lama-Wanderung für Familien in der Schönecker Schweiz
Apr 13, 2025 - Dec 28, 2025
Schönecken
Our llamas graze directly below the Schönecken castle ruins on a meadow orchard. There we get to know the animals in a very relaxed manner and make our first attempts at being led on the pasture. Then our hiking adventure begins in the Schönecker Switzerland nature reserve! Right at the beginning we hike down into the valley of the Altburgbach. Orchards and the slender silhouettes of the juniper bushes accompany us. We follow the Altburgbach, whose bed winds through the forest in countless hairpin bends. Finally we come to a narrow bridge. Can the llamas make it down the stairs to the bridge? Will they walk across the bridge? Here you can prove that you have already become good Llameros and Llameras! Because that's what the llama guides in the South American Andes are called. A steep ascent awaits us now: a narrow path meanders up the slope. It leads us to a hidden, ancient refuge castle perched on steep rocks above the Altburgbach. Centuries ago, Celts hid here when it got too dangerous out in the open plain. At this point we rest for a while. Who likes to explore the rocks. Of course we also have plenty of time to take pictures with the llamas. Then we walk back through the fields in the direction of Schönecken and almost at the end of our tour we reach the old castle of Schönecken. Back at the pasture, we have to say goodbye to our faithful companions, the llamas.
